Contemporary Australian Dining

We aim to connect guests with the vineyards, the wines, the farm, and more broadly the Barossa itself. The stables at Hentley Farm, originally built in the 1880s on the banks of Greenock Creek, have been meticulously restored and converted into a contemporary dining room.

Head chef Lachlan Colwill offers two set menu options which are created according to what is abundant, fresh, and of the highest quality. The restaurant has a strong focus on harvesting produce from the farm’s 150 acres, including foraged ingredients growing wild, as well as fruit, vegetables and herbs grown in our garden beds and orchard. All the wines that are matched with the menus are from the Hentley Farm portfolio.

“It’s an incredible privilege to head up a progressive kitchen in the very region I grew up. The produce we use often comes from people I went to school with that have taken over the family farms, old friends with orchards and home gardens and family supplying us with produce from the very trees I used to climb. Being at Hentley Farm provides an opportunity to also focus on our own farming practices and foraging around the site. All of this combined makes for a great source of inspiration as a chef, and is key to creating a dining experience that is truly unique to the region.” – Head Chef, Lachlan Colwill.

We are proud to be a member of the prestigious Relais et Chateaux Association, one of only five in Australia, whose members are “united in their passion for hospitality, commitment to quality and an aspiration to deliver an ever higher level of service”.

Menus

The Hentley Farm Restaurant offers two set menu options, both of which work as a surprise on the day. The restaurant has a strong focus on utilising the produce from our unique microclimate on the banks of Greenock Creek, from wildly growing on the property and in the waterways, to our onsite garden beds and the utilisation of our property grown and produced wines. From there we look to showcase the highest quality produce that the Barossa and surrounding regions have to offer.

We offer our guests two set menu options. For neither do we publish a menu, but cater to any dietary requirements. We pride ourselves on offering a very guest focused experience, connecting  diners with the people and the produce of the farm, whilst being both memorable and educational.

 Du Jour menu
1.5 hours, available for lunch only –  $115 or $155 (with wines)
A four course dining experience which encapsulates a snapshot of the restaurant’s philosophy.

Discovery menu
3 hours, available for lunch and dinner – $190 $255
Our full menu experience of approximately seven courses with additional snacks & treats.

These menus showcase Hentley Farm’s award winning wines, and we do offer a half pour for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the experience while maintaining a lower alcohol consumption.

For those of you dining with us in the evening, please check in at your booking time to our cellar door building – a member from the restaurant team will escort you to your dining experience. For lunch bookings, be sure to arrange to visit our cellar door prior to or after your dining experience. All of our diners are extended an exclusive offer on wine at our cellar door which can be redeemed after your experience.
