For the past 17 years, on Saturday of the Australia Day long weekend, Melbourne based theatre troupe – Essential Theatre, perform one of The Bard’s great comedies at the annual Shakespeare in the Vines. Lovers of Shakespeare enjoy a modern take on classic Shakespeare, while experiencing great food and wine in the relaxed setting of the historic Seppeltsfield Winery Dining Hall lawns.

The Bard returns in 2019 with Essential Theatre performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

We will once again have wine by the glass and bottle from the many award winning wineries along Seppeltsfield Road. We are NO BYO ALCOHOL.
Make-a-Wish Foundation will have their popular sausage sizzle, raising much needed funds, together with Owen Andrews Catering.
Ice creams and soft drinks from the Marananga Tennis Club and Strawberries and cream from the Gnadenfrei Church will also be available. Barossa Coffee Roasters will have your coffee needs covered!  Please come along and support these local businesses and groups.

Gates open at 5pm for a 6.30pm performance with food and wine available from 5pm. The location we will be the beautiful Seppeltsfield Dining Hall lawn.  An indoor alternative is available in case of inclement weather. Cloudy will be back to entertain you before and after the performance while you sit back, relax and enjoy a glass of wine.  We have a special performance from the Marananga Brass Band at 5.30pm!
